That evening we had a ward party at a park. It was the ward 'opening social'. Because we have a lot of people moving in and out (because a lot of people come here to Grad School) we tend to do an opening social at the beginning of the 'school year'. The kids had a blast, and I had a good time talking to people.
Saturday morning we loaded our family up, and headed up to Chicago for our Stake Temple Day. Amanda and Casey went up as well, so we planned on swapping babysitting. The drive up there was interesting since there were some highways closed due to flooding. We had to take a detour, which added time onto our trip. Once we got there we had about 15 minutes before the session started, so we told the Elmer's to go first, and we'd take the kids to a park and feed them lunch. Well, come to find out, their recommends were expired, so they couldn't go in! So, we all went to a park for lunch, then they took all the kids home, and Steven and I were able to go do a session, go to dinner, and the bookstore, all without the kids. Plus we had a nice 3 hour drive home, with just the two of us! Pretty nice! Because of the confusion in switching all the kids over, changing cars, and all of that, we didn't get a family picture in front of the temple because Steven was already in the temple. Addie was buckled in her seat so we (well, Amanda) snapped some pictures of Landon and Porter and Maya in front of the temple before they headed home.
Landon, being cute in front of the Temple, and Landon, Maya, and Porter, all striking a 'super hero' pose. Silly kids!
Overall, I thought it was a good, but busy weekend.
